Metman (thanks for the interesting ULR),

MHO is that this is not good for Intel. Going into what most are saying will be a record quarter for PC's / Servers, a lack of capacity will directly affect earnings potential.

On the other hand, given Intel investment in Fabs and it's demonstrated ability to project demand and manage inventory, the demand must be VERY high to catch them short (note Western Digitals hugh increase in H.D. sales reported yesterday).

The PC upgrade cycle that never really happened with the release of Win95 seems to be taking place. Because of the "turns" environment Intel talks about, it may not have been visable looking forward.
