And exactly what "facts" were you trying to keep straight. What you call a "mischaracterization of INTC's buyback" is just a difference of opinion. I characterize it as "agressive". Agressive is a subjective term. Just because your opinion doesn't agree, that hardly makes it right....and you called my comment arrogant...LOL.

Here is Intel's comment on share buyback from the Q4 earnings release:

In the fourth quarter, the company repurchased a total of 12.7 million shares of common stock at a cost of $1.0 billion under an ongoing program. For the full year the company repurchased 43.6 million shares at a cost of $3.4 billion. Since the program began in 1990, the company has repurchased 213.4 million shares at a total cost of $6.9 billion.

One billion dollars in the last quarter and $3.4 billion in the last year seem plenty aggressive to me and shows extreme acceleration, considering that during the whole life of the program (7 years) they have only spent $6.9 billion.

At any rate, I find it rather comical that you consider an opinion different than yours a "mischaraterization". For the record, how many billions of dollars spent last year and last quarter would you have considered aggressive??
