I believe that I read that Steenbergen had stated that the company was pursuing VDSL as well, but that the first "milestone" for that product line would be (as it was for ADSL) the packaging and establishment of an ANSI standard. I believe he also stated he felt just as confident regarding the VDSL standard and Amati's positioning as was the case with the ADSL standard...

I personnally agree with you regarding ADSL being a temporary measure; I think the ADSL sunset date will be sometime around 2003 (give ADSL 5 years in the field to recover costs of implementation, etc.)

I disagree with you that Amati is a one-trick pony.
