Coconino unit opens Utah disposal site

SALT LAKE CITY, March 25 (Reuters) - Coconino SMA Inc said Wednesday its Enviro-Tec Inc has opened the first Class V disposal facility
in Utah.

Enviro-Tec moved after Utah Governor Mike Leavitt signed a legislative resolution allowing the company to put into immediate use a Class V
nonhazardous liquid waste disposal permit recently issued by the state's Department of Environmental Quality, Coconino said.

Located in the hills of northeastern Utah, Enviro-Tec now presents what may be the best alternative for the controlled disposal of nonhazardous
Class V liquids, which previously had to be trucked hundreds of miles out-of-state.

Coconino noted disposal wells with Class V approval may receive fees of as much as $10.50 to $29.00 a barrel.

It said this compares to Class II fees of $0.50 or less per barrel -- formerly the subsidiary's sole source of income. Enviro-Tec's Class V
permit allows the company to process as much as 14,400 barrels per day.

Coconino also said Enviro-Tec has signed its first major contract to provide Class V waste disposal capabilities for National Tank &
Monitoring Corp, a Salt Lake City-based company that cleans of above and below ground storage tanks.
