Michael - what a pleasure to see your post. The thread has turned absolutely ugly; and to compound the problem, the newer negative posters have little or nothing of value to contribute (unlike Rocky and Ken, who at least provided food for thought). I hope that you, Allan, jwk, Bill Lin and others continue to contribute your thoughts. At the moment it's kinda hard to see the positives - other than the fact that Iomega is still selling about a billion or so dollars worth of product a year. Much less than most optimists had hoped, but their diminished monthly sales are about equal to Syquest's annual revenues.

What I do find troublesome is this: if they have been taking advantage of their dominant market position to try to extract premium pricing for their products, why have their margins remained at the 6-7% level?
