Thanks for the update. Hope this turns north soon as my threshold for financial pain is being tested. Bought MXMX over a year ago, thinking PC guru and media manager would be big hits (OEM deals?). Learned an important lesson about dead money here. I do truly believe now would be a good entry point given good distribution (Kroger ect...). My only concern is with the customer interface.

I bought my parents PC guru and asked for their feedback. They are retired and just got their first PC, a gateway 233. They don't know anything about PCs or installation ect... Thought they would be perfect test subjects to see if our company has a good concept and product and execution. They couldn't get PC guru installed. Error message was "only 99% installed"

They couldn't get gateway to help them because it was not part of their software. They called two 800 # on the box and got nowhere. They finally got a direct long distance number. Spent close to an hour with what they called PC Norton technical guy. They said they have too much loaded? They have a 6.5 gig hard drive? They think they heard it is conflicting with Gateway installation software? I couldn't explain how to delete gateway install s/w b/c I'm not familiar with whatever comes on a gateway.

Should we be concerned with this situation (doesn't gateway sell a lot pc to our target market)? Are other customers having this difficulty, which prevents them from even accessing the PC tutorial? The whole reason for purchase is to learn about their pc, but they don't know enough to install. Is this specific to gateway or all other pc manufactures configuration? It probably is something simple, but how can you expect a beginner to correct? My parents neighbor couldn't install either and she is not a beginner. Any suggestions? Could they have just gotten a bad CD?
