Lewis: I've been invested in VMRX since 3/96. I've watched this stock go from 2.50 to almost 7.00 in a very short span and back down to 1.50. I was attracted to it because back when I first bought it the trading volume per day was around 1.5 million shares. I believe someone was having a lot of fun making tons of money at that time. It had a very predictable trading range of 3.00 to 5.00 for a long time. I held and still hold as I watched the company acquire and expand. They have some real heavyweights on the board. Ronald Perlman (Revlon)
has or had a large stake in it with options to buy more stock at a low set price. I remember a lot of hype in the beginning with the President, F. Donald Hudson and one of the other Dr. board members actually doing a radio broadcast from Moracco, which I picked up off the internet, hyping it to the rest of the world. When I first invested in it they were based out of Stamford Ct., which is near to where I live. I was going to make a visit and check out the operation. AT that time they only had twelve employed. Then they checked out and went to Delaware. I understand VMRX has only two employees now, but that doesn't mean anything because of all the alliances and acquisitions they have made since.I believe that VMRX just pumps in the money to these other ventures. One other note; I never forget one afternoon I was watching CNBC in the spring of 96 and they had one of those investor call-in shows. The gentleman that was there to answer questions is usually briefed on what stocks he was going to be asked about, when all of a sudden the caller, who obviously lied about what he wanted to ask shouted, "What about VIMRX Pharmacueticals"! They immediately cut him off like he said something vulgar. Long and holding. Good Luck, Kashmir
