Got this from the yahoo forum.

"First entry on this board having viewed the correspondance for a while. Not much help about so maybe this will start a new trend. I'm not sure of the protocol here so posting 'rumours' may be out of order. Anyway my hope is that someone else may have firmer info or can confirm / deny this contribution.

Two weeks ago I heard from an internal source that NN had clinched a deal with Cable & Wireless to supply hardware valued at $200M to support an ATM network. Asynchronous Transfer Mode is the new generation of NN products which have taken over from the traditional TDM (Time Division Multiplex) range, Mainstreet label.

The news is apparently 'common' knowledge within the company but not pubic unless I have missed it or is 'old' info. Explanation for this is poor marketing ? I can't believe this ! Controlled release, yes.

If this were true would it have a significant impact on the share price ? Can anybody good with figures estimate the potential effect or would it simply be a barometer of better things to come for NN. "

Back in December, several people, one of which I know, bought big time Jan/Feb calls because a BIG deal was coming down. The so called deal may have been just a rumour or it was delayed. The info apparently came from someone inside NN. The deal mentioned above, may be true or may be just another rumour. However, this potential deal, if it is real, fits very well with the size of the expected deal forecast back in December 97. Anyone hear anything remotely connected to this probable deal/rumour? Even reality starts with a rumour.
