David,
being short is not so different to being long and taking profits. I still make a judgement of a good time to buy and a good time to sell, but execute the trades in a different order.

It would be surprising to me if people were not doing the sensible thing and turning at least some of their paper profits into real cash.
After a 'no news' run-up on a stock with a very enthusiastic following but no actual good results it is not unusual to see a fairly sharp correction, or (feels worse!) a steady drift off. The emotion among the stockholders makes for a vulnerability and potential for tape painting.

Which institutional buyers are buying at 13 3/4 and how much are they buying?
