Apple will be getting some positive coverage on CNBC today. They previewed a bit they'll be doing today on Apple's new commercial. I've observed that positive mentions on CNBC can often be worth a few points in a stock price.

I just saw the spot. They showed the whole Apple commercial and the advertising commentator said that it was indeed based on Byte's tests that Apple can say the G3 is faster but that the tests can be interpreted differently so how much faster it really is, is questionable. She also said there's a thin ground on using the bunny, a trademark; as long as it's a satire and funny it's okay, but it's a thin line. And she said that Intel is the leader so traditionally leaders don't respond and we may not get a reponse from Intel, but that Apple was right in going after Intel, since people shop for the Intel chip more than any PC brand name. Overall, a decent bit of coverage. I'd only have liked her to confirm that the G3 is lots faster. She suggested it might only be a little faster and it was mentioned by the host that Byte asked if the bunny was only a bit singed rather than really crisped.
