I've recently traded the OEX, NDX, SOX, CWX, and other indices. I win about 65% of my trades but I'm getting to like 'em for the following reasons. In trading the indices, you essentially only have to deal with 50% of the risk- the systematic/market risk. There's no unsystematic/security risk associated with trading stocks, bonds, or commodities. You do have to deal with the extra risk of buying/writing leveraged options or futures.
