<<In March of 1997, Lumivision beat all the major studios to market by
offering four DVDs for sale worldwide: the filmed-in-Imax(R) titles
Antarctica; Africa The Serengeti; and Tropical Rainforest; as well as
Animation Greats! from the National Film Board of Canada, which contains eight award-winning animated short films.
On January 27th of this year the company continued its tradition of
innovation by releasing Africa The Serengeti Special Edition, the first film
on DVD that utilizes all of the eight available DVD audio tracks in Dolby
Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The language tracks included are English,
Bavarian, Castilian Spanish, Catalan Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and
Mandarin Chinese. The English track is narrated by famed actor James Earl
Jones. English subtitles and closed captioning are also included on the same
disc.
Upcoming DVD filmed-in-Imax(R) releases include Mysteries of Egypt;
Niagara: Miracles, Myths & Magic; Grand Canyon, The Hidden Secrets, with eight
language tracks; Hidden Hawaii, with five language tracks; Mystery of the
Maya, with five language tracks; Ring of Fire, with six language tracks;
Whales, with four language tracks; and Yellowstone, with three language
