Well it seems the word is out on Dateker. By the way, I am the author. Here is the deal: the program was supposed to be kept private. It was never intended to be "advertised" here on SI or anywhere else. The reason for this is so that Datek servers are not overloaded with quote requests. If you have the program, fine, go ahead and use it.
My email has gone crazy since the first post here. Please do not email me with thanks, I have received enough, though I really appreciate it. Also, when datek changes their web page format even slightly the program stops working, for instance when they added a minus sign to the change column this week. When this happens assume I know about it and that I am working on it. Download a new copy from time to time, and certainly try downloading a new copy a day or so after it breaks.
Please do consider paying for the program. I know for a fact that many people are using it regularly because when datek changes their web format I am inundated with email etc. asking when it will be fixed. Even though I am apparently expected to answer as many as fifty emails, only one person has paid voluntarily. I never intended to spend so many "prime time" hours working for free, I am primarily a shareware author, and I feel my time is valuable. Right now I am tempted to either delete the download page or make the program require a password that people would have to pay for.
One last thought, Dateker only works with the datek "classic" pages. Orders8 or less. This morning a new copy was posted at the download site that only allows a user to select those servers. This also means that the Find Fastest button works again. Also, if you can't figure out the program, I doubt if I can help you. It is meant to be that simple.
