Respected Value Stock Analyst/Editor, Utah Companies Headline April 4 Investors Forum in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1998--Where are the undervalued stock gems which could become future diamonds in the rough for value investors?

Utah investors will hear from undervalued stock expert Al Frank, who will identify his current stock choices and outline his investment theories at the Informed Investors Utah Growth Stock Forum, Saturday, April 4 in Salt Lake City.

The Forum will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Salt Lake Holiday Inn Downtown. Cost to attend the event, which includes a continental breakfast, is $15 prepaid and $20 at the door. Audio tapes of the Forum also will be available for $25, plus $3.95 shipping/handling for the entire Forum. To register or obtain additional information, call 916/448-8222 or 800/992-4683 or visit www.informedinvestors.com.

Keynote speaker Frank, editor of The Prudent Speculator, will be joined by top management of Utah companies SOS Staffing Services (NASDAQ:SOSS), Mining Services International (NASDAQ:MSIX), Anesta Corp. (NASDAQ:NSTA) and tentatively, Pen Interconnect, Inc. (NASDAQ:PENC). The speakers will offer analyst-style assessments of their companies.

Frank's Prudent Speculator portfolio achieved a 36.2% return in 1997, according to The Hulbert Financial Digest. Hulbert also has tracked the Frank portfolio at an annualized return of 26.1% over the last 10 years and 18.6% over a 15-year period. In January, Frank said he expected 1998 to be a strong year for equities, and predicted that small capitalization stocks would outperform large caps this year.

Among the stock recommendations currently in Frank's list are Utah Medical Products (NYSE:UM), Maverick Tube Corp. (NASDAQ:MAVK), Summit Technology (NASDAQ:BEAM), Aerovox (NASDAQ:ARVX) and Kulicke & Soffa (NASDAQ:KLIC).

Frank three months ago introduced his first mutual fund, the Al Frank Fund, a no-load fund based on undervalued, out-of-favor equities. For information on his fund, call 888/263-6443.
