chirodoc,

I understand what the Japanese government and/or BOJ is trying to accomplish. But when you announce to the world that you are trying to cook the books, whats the point? Who is going to be left holding the bag on April 1, the April fool?

The Japanese strategies are really puzzling, though I agree with their action so far in not lowering taxes. Any freshman economics class will tell you that Japan needs to increase government spending now to stimulate the economy. Cutting taxes would only work if the consumers have the confidence to spend the savings. Do they?
