Picked this up from the Bloomberg newswire. It's a comment on why the price gold is higher. Would you be able to expound on this a little?

"Gold miners rose along with the price of the metal, which is getting a boost from speculation that the planned European central bank will have to support the Euro with a large amount of gold."

If this turns out to be true, what would the longer term effects for gold be? How much a boost could gold expect from a situation like that?
