The quarterly report reads as follows:

Weighted average common
and common equivalent
shares(a)
Basic 25,597 25,184 25,456 23,142
Diluted 25,597 28,176 28,153 26,129
Pro forma diluted income
per share (b) $ 0.22 $ 0.65
Weighted average common
shares used in pro forma
diluted income per share
calculation 28,080 28,153

This quarter, for the first time, # of diluted shares equalled # of basic shares. Pro forma diluted (whatever that means) was a higher number.

What should be used to calculate p/e? SI profile uses the lower number resulting in a lower p/e. Can anyone help sort this out.

I tend to increase my WIND shares because of future earnings timed by trailing earnings.

TIA
