The license they have from an earlier purchase to use in the Autobahn technology is national, right? Does the purchase of spectrum now indicate a change in plans (increasing Autobahn's thruput?) or should it be read as preparing for a third generation system that is still a number of years out? The exciting thing about Metricom is that once they have the radios on the poles, they can go out and replace them with a higher performance network pretty easily. Competitors who don't launch satellites will have to go thur a lot of regulatory hurdles to get their infrastructure in place. Dragonfly
