Hello thread. First time poster, long time lurker (only recently became SI member). I should know the answer to this, but I don't. When do earnings come out? An earnings calendar I saw stated May 20, but I believe I saw in an earlier post that it is late April. The answer dramatically impacts an option strategy I want to try out. Just an aside. While I enjoy the input I receive on this thread, I sometimes think too much information can be a bad thing for the average investor, in certain respects. What I mean is, I have been following Dell since before I moved to Austin in early 1996. At the time, dell was trading in the low 30's. I read and saw nothing about what a great company Dell was. The stock ran into the 50's, pulled back to the low 40's by July, and I held off because of all the "doom and gloom" sentiment, whether about the market overall, or the sector in particular. well, needless to say, if I had followed my instincts, and bought, I would have seen that investment quadruple ( I've lost track, but I think that's about right). Same thing this past fall; dip to 70's, Dell's going to 50, so I waited. we all know what has happened since then. Bottom line, the majority of the folks here saw a good thing, bought, and stuck with it. Now, being up 100's of percent, no worry about pullbacks. I am looking forward to posturing myself for the same position. Good luck to all. Thanks for any input on earnings.
