I would expect that would be CPQ's plan, they would have at least a year to capitalize on that strategy, and that's good business for MSFT as well. The real question is what happens 2 or 3 years down the road. I would expect to see comprehensive explanation as a part of the overall coverage of the DEC merger, which should happen pretty soon.
I doubt that this had anything to do with Intel management shift, since at the moment nothing has changed between any of the players. I think Grove's health problems (he has prostate cancer)are probably behind the change.
