Well, profit taking is tempting, but if this move is confirmed by good earnings, its going much higher. The 60s wouldn't be surprising to me in pretty short order. Don't forget--we are at or near the beginning of a new upgrade cycle over the next 12 months. Plus a new product (the PageMaker replacement program) which will either be a big splash (that is what I am guessing) or a big dud.

The reason I am guessing the former is that they have a lot of programming talent and experience with making layout programs, not only from PageMaker but also from Frame. I know some of those guys have champing at the bit to do something new both to take advantage of the spiffy new hardware that has developed since the other 2 programs were written and also to "do it right this time". They won't be shackled by having to be backward compatible, and can fix all of the things that they have wanted to fix all these years.

It was a gutsy decision by Adobe to do it this way, and I think it will pay off big time. Quark better watch its flank. It took them about 4 years to come out with Quark 4.0, and it still wasn't either right or loaded with new features. Many of their users just disabled it after working with it for a couple of weeks because it kept crashing. Now they are trying to squeeze mTropolis into Quark (so says the latest MacWeek), but they are shackled by their old structure. Adobe is doing it right by abandoning the old, and in with the new!
