UK MP seeks new law on 'millennium
bug' plans

LONDON, March 26 (Reuters) - A British
parliamentarian said on Thursday he would seek to
introduce legislation forcing companies to tackle the
so-called ''millennium bug.''

Opposition Conservative David Atkinson will next
week introduce a private members bill which, if
passed, would make it illegal for companies not to
alter their computer systems to cope with the date
change to the year 2000.
