It's funny that you mention Excel Communications!

I have a friend who just started marketing the Excel Product. For those that don't know, Excel is similiar to Amway, they market their "cheap" long distance rates through reps that get paid on comission. The rates are approx. $.10 a minute. The problem they and all the other long distance carriers are facing is the transition into a long distance commodity. Long distance will become similiar to computer memory, who ever offers the best rate sells product but eats it in margins - AT&T new $.15 anytime rate......

That's why these long distance services are getting into products not rates. They know they need to come up with something people want other than just a cheap phone price cause that alone will kill them. Video Conferencing will be a HUGE market, I hope SOE can get a little piece of the action.
