John: I don't have the technical background to fully understand the potential ramification of Alpha. It has been referenced several times on the SI thread. It got my attention when I found that it was instrumental for the complex scenes in the Titanic.

Being the positive person I am, while CPQ sits in a negative environment, I thought that Alpha should be used to help support CPQ earnings. The purpose behind the DEC purchase was to expand into broader areas. If CPQ has an asset which is a realistic threat to the Merced, I wonder if it's worth the chance to fully exploit this chip while Intel is the fabricator? Looking for CPQ to regain their edge. Thanks for your response,

Mike
