Christine, I forgot some things I wanted to respond to:
AND IN THIS SOCIETY, IS VERY UGLY, AND TO ME REFLECTS POORLY ON ALL THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO INSIST THAT THEIR RELIGION IS THE ONLY CORRECT ONE. THERE IS NO CORRECT RELIGION.
I have to laugh, Christine. You clearly are unclear what religion and beliefs are all about. Of course each religion believes their's is the right one, otherwise they would be in a different one. What seems to offend you the most is that people have any religious beliefs at all. Again, I would suggest that you get used to the idea that there are people with religious beliefs out there, because I don't think they are going away. You also have "beliefs", for instance you've mentioned witchcraft, "white witches", etc. Who do you think you are, pushing your beliefs off on other people? You're doing the same thing talking about witchcraft that other people are doing talking about their beliefs in supernatural powers, such as God.
YES, YOU ARE SHELTERED. AGAIN, READ THE URLS I PROVIDED ABOVE, OR WATCH THE DEBATE AT ASK GOD, WHERE THE CHRISTIANS AND JEWS ARGUE CONSTANTLY WITH ABUNDANT VENOM
You keep harping on "intolerance". I would suggest that you take a good look at the person in the mirror, and ask that person how tolerant they are of others having a lively religious debate. When you point your finger of disapproval at others, and look down on others, there are three fingers pointing right back at you. Indeed, why are you even lurking on the "Ask God" thread, if such lively, even vehement exchanges bother you? Did the freedom of speech suddenly disappear, because Christine has a compulsion to lurk on the "Ask God" thread, and is bothered by the mentions of "God", "Jesus", "sin", "Talmud", "Scripture", etc?
I'm not going to any of the URLs you gave. I'm not interested in seeing things that may offend me.
re YOU WILL ALWAYS SEE TERRORIST GROUPS DEVELOPING IN CASES LIKE THAT. WHAT IS YOUR POINT, EXACTLY?
My point was that you seemed to be condoning terrorism by the Palestinians by saying "Terrorism is a natural reaction everywhere for groups who have been hurt badly and feel powerless, and feel they have no alternatives to get attention,"
Either terrorism is wrong or it's not. It is black and white. I do not believe that "the ends justify the means". Terrorism is wrong, period. It's wrong for Israelies, and it's wrong for Palestinians, and it's wrong for little boys who've been dumped by their girlfriends, and it's wrong for abortion opponents, and it's wrong for people getting revenge for believed wrongs done in Waco, Texas. It sickens me that you would suggest that terrorism is okay for some groups, if they have a legitimate gripe.
IT SEEMS SHAMEFUL FOR SOME OF THEM TO DECIDE THAT OTHERS ARE NOT GOING TO HEAVEN, AND AGAIN, THAT DEBATE OCCURS EVERY DAY AT ASK GOD.
Again, I suggest that you not seek after those things which offend you. You are FREE to not visit the Ask God thread.
I AM ALSO SAYING ONCE AGAIN THAT THIS BRAND OF CHRISTIANITY DOES NOT SEEM TO REFLECT THE TOLERANCE AND LOVING ACCEPTANCE JESUS EXHIBITED.
You mean, IF Jesus even existed. Unless you've recently become a believer, I wouldn't attempt to become a judge of what constitutes Christian behavior. That's sorta like if I was to start accusing a Moslem of "un-Moslem like" behavior. FWIW, Christians are taught by Jesus to differentiate between right and wrong. I know that's terribly intolerant and quite un-politically correct, but there it is. Jesus also said, "Judge not, that ye be not judged". So there it is. Have I ever said you were a non-believer, or are going to hell, Christine? While I've not been perfect, I don't believe I have judged you. It is you who continually mention that you are an atheist.
WELL, I BELIEVE I HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS--TO FREEDOM FROM RELIGION.
Actually, you won't find anywhere in the Constitution where it says that you have a freedom to never be inflicted with the sight of a religious symbol, even in Government. The first Amendment stated that the State shall not establish a religion. Clearly the founders were thinking of England's Church of England. But anyway, what specifically is forcing you to be religious? Reading money? Seeing a church steeple? The founders of the United States were religious, and this is a largely Christian nation. If that offends you, then I suggest you may need counseling, not new printing on money. |
