Mike, Kurlak speaks. We may not like his views, but people listen. I think he is a short term thinker on computers. I agree that we have not seen the real start of the computer revolution. We will look back at our present machines in five or tens years and view them the same way the original PCs are viewed today. (I still have a 286x used for games and some data.) Even better yet, the same way we view a Ford Model T.
At the same time, I think Kurlak is correct about communications. Of course, I put money where my mouth is there. It is not doing well right now, just like cpq. Oops shouldn't say that, I am now ahead (on paper) of the game with cpq. The reason I invested in communications, is the need for more computer bandwidth to move data faster.
Hmmm, right back to computers by way of bandwidth. Maybe Kurlak is just getting to the bandwidth problem. Once the bandwidth is big, it pushes computer demand again. That's going full circle for you! Maybe he is smarter then he acts. Maybe his fan club is simple, and can only handle the short term picture. NW electronicnews.com |
