Apparently OBV was a popular indicator used by Joe Granville in the 1970s to assess trend and divergences. I just flipped through Colby and Meyers and I still don't understand it. The old timers at the office have tried to explain it to me, but I'm just too dense, I guess. Personally I use a 30 period weighted MA with candlesticks, volume, a momentum indicator, an oscillator and watch the RSI. Oh, I forgot about the 50 cent plastic ruler to draw lines...the methods I use are simple but they seem to work for me.
