Responding to Pure Folder who asked about the revenue split to Wave. I previously mentioned that Wave will probably receive 40 to 50% for transactions less than $10 and gradually lower percentages as the transaction cost increases.. I understand that the OEMs will be compensated around 25% of Wave's split and that the balance of 50% or more after Wave's split would go to the content providers. At this stage there is no way to know the anticipated average value or cost of a transaction for content rented, rented to own or purchased outright.

I was not able to see the demo at the Seybold seminar in NYC.

Lark Allen did not take early retirement from IBM and probably made the move to Wave for career enhancing reasons. He certainly has outstanding credentials from IBM and should be a strong asset to Wave. The new person who just recently began posting on this message board made a good point that Allen may be part of a long term strategic alignment between IBM and Wave. It is inconceivable that Wave would raid top IBM talent (as Allen appears to be) under the current circumstances. I am sure you noticed that Allen will be focusing on "business to business" security applications for the WaveMeter which is a different venue for Wave from content distribution for personal use. This may give some insight into other future developments between the two companies, not to mention additional business potential.

I believe that the other new man at Wave did take early retirement from IBM and that his primary duty is to work with developing the relationship between the two companies. Both of these additions seem to be positive developments to me.

By the way, could you let me know where I can find the link which you mentioned regarding the "upcoming IBM product announcement". I have been able to access some reliable sources on Wave, however I do not expect to learn anything about the timing for any product announcement. I am sure that IBM will want to keep that information very confidential up to the last minute. The only thing I've heard is that there may be an announcement in late April or May, but there is no confirmation available. I do know that an announcement should not be too far off if there is any hope to deploy the WaveMeter in IBM PCs before year end.
