** OT **

It's never too early to look. Steve, I maintain a long time horizon in my investments, so I'm looking beyond the current Asian turmoil. My question is where do we view the various hi-tech investment possibilities in five to ten years. Of the hardware companies, I believe those in communications will do the best. In software, I like companies in the enterprise market. The diciest area is bio-tech, because it is so unpredictable. There is a magnitude of difference between invention and engineering (as in electronics firms) and discovery (as in bio-tech). For that reason, I've been giving a long look recently at Quintiles International which looks to reap the rewards of heightened drug activity but doesn't get itself involved in the drug development business. I don't know if I'd invest yet, but it looks intriguing.

Just some random thoughts.

Regards,

Paul
