NW..The Y2K problem will effect hardware sales but a lot of it will be hardware not related to what CPQ does. An example I read was in a large electrical generation facility. A sensor on a smoke stack that took time related measurements could not properly interpret 00 on a test and the result was the whole generation facility shut down. Tuesday's WSJ has an article that gives the budget for General Motors that includes $500 mmillion just for Y2K issues for 1998. The same article included a few more large companies that when combined had $3 + billion budgeted for it. It's huge but much of the money spent is taking away from potential CPQ related sales. I've heard it said Y2K is big enough that it could be the catalyst to bring about a flat tax as the IRS computing system is no where near being in compliance and the flat tax would be a simpler method. FWIW
