Chas, the investing public has a simplified view of the difficulties of things like switching from .25 to .18. Personally I don't put much faith in the "latest development news" that comes out concerning MU because there is a significant amount of hype that clouds reason/truth/etc. For instance, the "cost" that you are talking about, I'm assuming its the marginal cost? That doesn't take into consideration the considerable cap expenses that they'd have to undergo to set up their lines or overhead/interest on the money they'd have to borrow to set up the new lines/etc.
