ALL; WELL ANDY GROVE IS GONE NOW WHAT? What will happen to the x86 market?? The only fears I have are....possible commoditization of the x86 cpu market and much lower margins for INTC, AMD, Cyrix (NSM). Indeed Intel faces a tough situation and the x86 market fundamentals are changing, I see Intels' only choice is to try to commoditize the lower end CPU and except much lower margins ( that will hurt Intel and the share holders big time ) in the mean time working on high end processors that more complex future software will take advantage of. The trouble is it will be quite sometime before more CPU power is reasonably needed for the common person. Price wars may heat up as they did, say in the memory market and also the disk drive market, We have all seen this happen time and time again in the technology sectors. I like the idea that INTEL HAS SOME REAL COMPETITION NOW! I THINK IT'S FUNNY THAT ANDY GROVE DUMPED HIS INTEL STOCK AND BAILED OUT! I THINK IT IS EVEN FUNNIER THAT INTEL ANNOUNCED A SHARE BUY BACK AT THE SAME TIME ANDY LEFT JUST AS A SHOW OF CONFIDENSE ( WHO REALLY ACTUALLY BELIEVES THAT....FOOLS! ) I think in the end after some rough time AMD, NSM, IDTI might do well. I am worried that many other companies like Texas Instruments might decide this is a great time to jump in the x86 CPU market and bring more price competition. I am glad we're getting to know and discuss more about the notebook computer market....KILL INTEL.... Regards; Joe
