Can someone help me understand the mentality of John Tara and OC?...
Like I have said before there is absolutely nothing that these two can say that will make me sell my stock. On the same note I am sure that there is nothing that we can say that will make them buy the stock.
Do you view all negative posters as people with some motive to make you sell? I personally like seeing all the aspects of a stock discussed on these threads. Many of you(sorry for being general) don't seem to want to discuss the negative aspects of this stock, at best, some admit to problems and want it left alone at that. Your comments make me think you believe the purpose of these threads is to "make people buy" the stock. It is as unfortunate that people who pump stocks are here, along with people who tear them down.
Personally speaking, I don't think Jon Tara falls into the same category as OC, but who knows. What I do know is when someone says there is nothing anyone can say to make me sell, I'm hoping they don't actually believe that, of course they could simply be attempting to pump the stock or maybe they just shouldn't be investing. To convince yourself that people saying bad things about the stock you own has ulterior motives, condemns you to never be able to objectively assess and re-assess the investment.
As to why people post negatively about stocks, you apparently believe they should post if their short or interested in taking a position long, short or short-term. Why can't folks post to prevent people from getting into, or staying in, what in the poster's opinion is a troubled stock? I do it because I know something about the stock that others might want to know, and like you, I don't think these boards should be used to promote an agenda. Unlike you, I think that applies to posters who tell everyones that management is great and has never misled. When it's not true, people saying that should be looked at very suspiciously. I was in a stock called Camelot, finally got out at 11/16 because of negative postings. Took a long time to get out, because, like you, I thought the negative posters had an agenda. When I finally started looking at the information they were posting, I got out. Went to 1/8, later CAML did a 40-1 reverse, down to 2, then delisted according to the NASD for the "benefit of investors(or something like that)". While I lost a lot, at least I didn't lose it all. Many folks went down with that one, and that's a shame. Can't I post negative aspects because I don't like seeing people ride a stock down to 0 without having all the information they can? |
