Thank you, starsailor. Carry forward is three years, you have to check the latest law. Carry back is all the way to the date you purchased it, 50 years or 100 years ago. If you were lucky that BRE-X came back; you still own the stock. When you sell and get a profit you have to pay the tax on gains from zero value to the revenue you received. Tax and ownership is separate issue. Tax is on value or cost which ever is lower. Ownership is the certificate you received in your name.

On the other hand, BRE-X closed at $0.09 which was reported on the other thread.
