Since you raise legitimate concerns, may I suggest that you telephone the company. I'm sure if they truly have a story to tell about new endeavors (as well as older failed endeavors) there would be someone willing to speak with you. Satcon seems small enough for you to be able to reach a senior person. In fact I would try for the top.

I too have come across some of the items you mentioned reading some old press releases. But what impresses me now is that Satcon, despite some earlier missteps seems to have a clear focus and strategy as well as improving financial performance. Most importantly they seem to be in the vanguard of development of some eminently salable technologies. Call the company - let us know then what you think.
