Right, it's not the technology. It's who has the products. That's why the armies of Java developers represent such a threat to Microsoft which is losing track of which shops to buy out and till back under the soil from whence they came. If Microsoft loses the hearts and minds of developers to Java it will lose its monopoly position because their software will run on Java and on anything else with little or no effort -- increasingly, with little performance penalty either.

Look, I don't blame you for swallowing the Microsoft line, hook and sinker. You are simply playing Follow the Leader and that's really the path of least resistance. Still there's a ditch filled with piping hot coffee which you are all going to fall into and the Microsoft coffee cups which are now being passed out aren't going to stop you from drowning or being boiled alive as you stroll over the edge and into the abyss. We know that 98% of the general populace doesn't get Java and we should not be surprised to discover some posting on this thread, as you have done. So just hold on to your seat and I promise I won't say I told you so as you're being boiled alive in that ravine of hot coffee Microsoft is directing you toward.
