I won't eat it all at once.

Ferrofluid pictures: "spiky bracelets, Chinese checkerboard, black durian skin..." There's a place I've seen such patterns before. Such...exact...patterns. I don't think magnetism is involved, although our resident shamanic practitioner(s) may dissent.
Check out Oliver Sacks' book titled Migraine. Within is a brief section of plates, artists' representations of the visual artifact of some migraines. The phenomenon rather ominously termed a scintillating scotoma. Sounds instantly deadly, doesn't it?
