In the FWIW column: S&P equity analyst Brian Goodstadt downgraded Adobe Systems (Nasdaq: ADBE - news) to hold form accumulate after the software developer posted first quarter earnings per share of $0.38, down from the year-earlier $0.63 and well below Wall Street expectations. He noted that the company has high exposure to Asia, representing more than 20% of revenues, and sees continued weakness in that region. Goodstadt also lowered his fiscal 1998 earnings per share estimate for Adobe.
