NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 1998--ACTV, Inc. (NASDAQ: IATV - news) today reported financial results for the year ended December 31, 1997.

Revenues for the year ended December 31, 1997 increased to $1,650,955 from $1,476,329 in the prior year. The Company had a net loss applicable to common shareholders of $7,858,683, or $.61 per share for the year ended December 31, 1997, compared with a net loss of $8,800,481, or $.75 per share, for the year ended December 31, 1996.

ACTV, Inc. has developed proprietary technologies for digital TV that allow viewers to individualize programming. The Company is launching regionally based entertainment networks featuring sports programming provided through ACTV's strategic alliance with Fox Sports Net. Using ACTV's programming, sports fans are able to focus on star players, call up statistics, select player interviews or other feature packages, and activate instant replays, all with the touch of a button. For Internet applications ACTV has created and markets eSchool Online(TM), a proprietary Java-based software suite that combines video, Internet web pages with educational content, and collaborative chat groupware, to create ''virtual'' classrooms. >>
