Jeff,

You are so right. Cars DO have feelings. They are not just hunks of metal and glass; they truly are sentient beings, I believe.

I have long known that I must talk nice to my cars and never, ever swear at them or slam their doors or trunks. I must lovingly wash and wax them and keep their oil changed and their fluid levels correct.

I would go so far as to say that my cars even talked to one another when they were both together out in the garage. If one got a water pump, right away the other one wanted one too. Same with engine and transmission overhauls. It got frustrating. Finally, with a lump in my throat and tears welling in my eyes, I allowed one of them to be adopted, but I made sure that it went to a good home. I don't think it ever liked me that much anyway, maybe because I carelessly named it "The Gouger."
