"With such a stock buyback project announced at this moment, the coming Q1/98 earning must be very ugly."

Stock buy back expense does not get deducted from earnings. Your understanding of the financial world is as bleak as your understanding of the technology. No wonder you have been consistently losing money from quarter to quarter.
