To the thread, here is the post in its entirety:

"I have been long Network General for years and follow NETA closely. I work as a headhunter in the Bay area and I have just met with an executive, VP level, in NETA who is actively looking to leave the company.

"The current quarter in the US is not pretty, regardless of Bill L.'s recent statements.

"US sales are forecasted to finish $30 million or more behind plan and the sniffer market is terrible. US field sales is reducing current quarter committments by greater than $1 million per day. In addition, there has been a flurry of resignations within the field sales and support groups.

"I'm out...use the info as you see fit!"

[ I would point out that there is no personal information on the posters profile, and no way that we can know that the information posted is true. A similar kind of post appeared on SI two quarters ago on the PSFT thread. All of the information contained in the post turned out to be bogus.

I'd also point out that if this information is true It would leave management vulnerable to a very nasty lawsuit considering the fact that they reiterated their confidence in achieving quarterly goals just last week.

My guess is that this is one more of those bogus posts, but who knows?
