Nope, you are wrong. Programmers jumping ship is a sure sign that products will be delayed and the quality of the goods shipped will be poor. Poor management, lack of impending revenue and the jitters make people move in the technical markets. The demand for developers is too high for anyone to stay in a place that doesn't stand a chance. This is a critical measure of a software development firms ability to compete. Don't take this information (assuming it's credible) lightly. I've been in this business for almost 20 years.
