Sorry it took me so long to get back.
The following is the e-mail I sent to Ken, sales manager, earlier this week:
Subject: Ken, Should I sell ? Date: Wed, 25 Mar 1998 04:01:05 -0500 From: Paul Stahl <postahl@ntwrks.com> To: etemp@eventemp.com
Dear Ken,
My name is Paul Stahl, we talked briefly the other day. I told you I had recently bought some shares of ETMP and I had heard about your company thru the internet. I frequently use Silicon Investor to keep up on stocks and found out about you there, (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/subject.aspx?subjectid=19857). The company sounded interesting so I looked at your web site, called Don Massey Cad. and Brad. The response I got from both was good and I ended up investing in the company. I even posted my opinion on Silicon Investor (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=3767989). However, I soon began hearing Eventemp's name associated with spam-mail. I found it hard to believe but started checking and found the items below which are just a sample of what I saw.
mtnweb.com
dejanews.com Once there do a search for ETMP. You will find numerous examples why Sloan Fitzgerald Inc. should be canned.
Ken, I'm trying to defend ETMP as you can see on SI but I need some help here. Please say ETMP is no longer using Sloan Fitzgerald and spam mailing to promote the company. Neither one does a damn thing for your company's image.
I'll call later today (with my fingers and toes crossed) so you can explain to me why I should NOT sell my stake in ETMP and run away. I really like the concept of your company but the marketing practices send up all kinds of red flags for me and other investors.
I look forward to talking to you soon.
Sincerely,
Paul Stahl
Talked to Ken Thursday morning. By Ken's admission, he is a computer illiterate. He admits to using Sloan Fitzgerald for the internet part of the company's PR work but sheepishly said he really had no idea what they were doing or, more to the point, HOW they were doing it. He did agree that spam mail does not convey a positive image for Eventemp. He promised to take a look at Dejanews and the other link so he could see for himself just how "popular" spam mailers are.
I continue to sense nothing malicious or deceptive at Eventemp. They are basically a bunch of "car guys" working their buns off to get their idea off the ground. And speaking of that, Ken said the first units should be shipping in May. Even if you believe only half of what ETMP says (over $20,00,000 in orders right NOW) with such a small float the stock should do well.
Everyone, please feel free to call Ken 602/368-5474 and draw your own conclusions.
Sorry for the length of this post, I'll do better in the future.
Have Fun, Paul |
