We lose sight of the facts on this board some times.
Take this little survey:

1) What kind of computer do you have now at the office?

2) Who has a better one at work and don't you wish that you had that computer?

3) What kind of computer(s) do you have at home now?

4) see question 2 but substitute "at home" for "at work"

NOW the real tests
What kind of computing machinery did you have on your desk/office 3 years ago, 5 years ago 10 years ago?

What kind of home computer did you have 3 years ago, 5 years ago 10 years ago?

Do we need to have this discussion about DELL anymore.. The answer is clear. What seems satisfactory or even KILLER today looks like a slow doorstop that can't hack it and isn't cost effective to upgrade in just 3 to 4 years.

THE operating systems, the new applications, the memory required, the DISK SPACE, the new connections. All of these things DRIVE change. And CHANGE is the bottom line that will propel DELL into the atmosphere.

EVEN if NOBODY that doesn't have a computer today buys one tomorrow, DELL could at least maintain their business based on upgrades. As it turns out so few of us have computers, the market is endless.

Just consider China. Billion people? How many have Pentiums yet?
How many people don't even have PHONE service. We have a long way to go before saturation takes place.
