Yaacov:
I have owned Motorola stock for 2 years and have a loss too. It is my opinion that Motorola lacks an overall centrally focused purpose such as Cisco or Dell. They just do not seem to be focused--just a bunch of subgroups that do their own thing. They end up going to market with products that are already somewhat obsolete.
They seem to spend a lot of dollars hyping 6 sigma quality and it is the one thing that comes to mind when I hear their name. Other than that I do not identify their name with products.

The beauty of owning Motorola stock is that one can buy and sell it and never incur capital gains tax.
