Mohan,

I don't know if you can answer this or not but here goes. I'm leaving for a 3 week excursion to Nepal in April to do some trekking/rafting/biking/safari. I was told that shorts were not readily accepted as part of the Nepali culture unless they came down to the knees. However, some books I have read on trekking in Nepal have said that shorts were alright if you happened to be trekking. I suppose this is because you really won't come into contact with anyone(from Kathmandu for example). Can you explain the discrepancy in views? TIA

Nemaste,

Brian
