The Big Picture . . .

This is my first post to this list, though I have been lurking for several months. I have also monitored the Yahoo copy group. During this time I have been utterly amazed at the relentless and bitter attacks on Copytele by people who appear to have as their sole objective to destroy the company. Permit me to make a few observations and then please add your own reflections. Maybe you can help me better understand what is going on.

Quite a part from the fact that those of us who are long on copy may or may not be prudent investors, the vitriolic attacks against us can only be understood (at least to me) in one or more ways.

1. "Killers." It is plausible to me that there are persons hired or at least encouraged in some way to do all within their power to bad mouth the company in order to bring it down. They could be contracted guns representing competing companies. The fact that some of them are so technically astute lends credence to this view.

2. Shorters. It is in their best interest, financially to bring down the price of the stock. The more they can upset and discourage us, the more likely we might unload our shares and cause the price to drop. But . . . with the stock so low already and the fact that the company has enough cash to keep it afloat for at least two more years, this explanation doesn't make sense. Surely they could make more money bad mouthing another, more pricey stock. No, the answer is not short vs long.

3. Revenge. It's quite possible one or more of these snipers has a personal vendetta against Dennis or Frank or someone else in the company. Or maybe they've lost big time and are committed to "get even" by doing their best to destroy the company. They are in it for the blood.

4. Evil. At the heart of an evil mind is a devotion to destruction. Twist, distort, ridicule, belittle -- these are only some of the ways these people get their kicks. They have found in CopyTele a passive target and they are feeding their evil desires by hurling insults, invectives and verbal sewage. It's a sick game they play, fueled by a lust for hurting others.

5. Love. They are truly concerned for those who, in their minds, are heading toward financial loss. Their compassionate motives cause them to use shock techniques to arrest our attention and turn us away from disaster. They are "Catchers in the Rye." Yeah, sure.

Really, I am at a loss to understand why these nay sayers keep slugging away day after day. The most satisfying answer to me is the possibility that they represent another company or interest and they are commissioned to destroy. That being the case, at least so it seems, I find all the more reason to invest in CopyTele. In fact, Since reading their seething remarks, I have increased my holdings to where I now have 20,000 shares. The more they shriek, the more I believe what I am hearing from CopyTele and others in whom I have confidence.

One final word, this one for Carolinaheel, if you're reading this. You have been a rock. I encourage you to stay strong and I urge you to retain your poise. Don't let them drag you down to their level. You are of better stuff. You are a long!
