According to the best available information, the most noticeable effect of the Y2K problem for most people will be as follows:

If you are watching TV at 12:01 a.m. immediately after the ball thing at Times Square, all the fillings in your teeth and your crowns will fall out.

You will have ample warning, though, because before this happens the crowns and fillings will start to play "Auld Lang Syne." You should then go get a paper cup into which to spit all the metal that will be dislodged, some of which can be salvaged by your dentist to rebuild your mouth.

I have already posted this information once before, but perhaps it was on another thread.
