<..If they are removing stuff, that's okay with me..>
And IMO, unless they contain physical threats, blatant profanity or racial epithets, this is what I am NOT ok with.
<..it scares the hell out of me that one of us could be reading the thread and one of our children come up behind and starts to read the post...>
Well, I guess we all have different fears, but why not just treat ANY post from him like (YOUR assessment of) pornography and just say NO, at least until the kids are in bed?
<..Especially when it was caused by a pretty intelligent guy who chooses to come off the wall for effect...>
Actually, I can deal with HIM, and have. It's others' intolerant reactivity which catalyze "big sister" to erase posts or remove posters that I have problems with.
<..Freedom of speech ? I'm for it. Being disruptive and uncouth in a public forum is unacceptable...>
I think I found our variance. How can an ignorable post be personally disruptive? As I've said, I've lost respect for him from his dishonesty, but overreaching or arbitrary censorship has a hefty price tag that I choose to vote against (first with words, and eventually my feet).
<..Do you think he would talk that way at a School Board meeting ?..>
I'm afraid you lost me here, Ali.
